Arriving on the Gold Coast

Most teams will fly into Gold Coast Airport (OOL) or Brisbane Airport (BNE). Transfer times, costs and preferred methods remain TBA until verified for your event window.

Which airport?

OOL is closer to Broadbeach and The Star Gold Coast. BNE offers more international connections and a longer ground transfer. Your travel brief will nominate the preferred arrival airport when confirmed.

Competition staging and the player area are planned for the Events Centre Ballroom at The Star Gold Coast — one of the largest pillar-less function spaces in the hotel. Exact floor layout and capacity figures remain TBA until the technical annex is confirmed.

Guests and age-restricted areas

Parts of The Star precinct and evening venues are restricted to guests aged 18 years and over under Queensland law.

Age restrictions

Casino floors and some late venues require government-issued photo ID proving age 18+. Under-18 players and staff must remain in approved zones.

Identification

Identification acceptance for 18+ areas is set by the venue. Do not assume a specific document is accepted until The Star and event operations confirm requirements for your event window.

Guest access

Guest allocation is limited and TBA per event. Managers submit names by the deadline. Unlisted guests will be refused at accreditation.

VIP access

VIP or hospitality credentials are issued by operations only. Do not assume casino membership or hotel status grants competition-floor access.

Conduct

Guests follow the same respectful conduct code as teams. Intoxication, harassment or interference with competition areas results in removal.

Friends and family

Friends and family may attend public areas when tickets or guest passes allow. Competition stage and practice rooms remain restricted unless accredited.

Australians are generally informal. “G’day” and “mate” are friendly, not rude. If you are unsure, a clear “hello” and “thank you” always works.
